39. I miss the EZ forms.
We bought a house (and sold the old one) last year, and neithe of us is confident that we know what we're doing with all these forms. This will be the first time that we will be paying someone else to do our taxes. I am a little scared, as I had to cash in a whole bunch of stock options to buy the new house. If we end up owing $$...we're fucked.

But none of it translates into stock options, like my poor Dad. I have stock in a growing company, but that won't really be held accountable for some time. Nonetheless, I'd like someone to take care of the EZ stuff anyway..does that sound lazy?

11. Yes, as a matter of fact it was mostly topless...
The little guy and I put the convertible top down yesterday and went to a small car show with a few Ferraris and a 1931 Cadillac V-16, then drove back home along the river on the side roads...

Today, Mrs. R and I and the little guy went for a picnic up the river with the roof down, then LG and I picked up one of his pals and went to the park...then LG and his pal went to another pal's house and to kill an hour, I went and had a very enjoyable beer, served by my favorite black-haired barmaid, at the local Mexican restaurant, picked up LG (roof still down) then home for a wonderful dinner and a fireside chat with Mrs R. followed by romantic stuff...

Dang good weekend. Thanks for asking.

62. Volvo C70 HPT (see below)
I'm an unapologetic Car Guy; this one is fast and luxo and the styling absolutely screams money, even though it was not that expensive, relatively speaking:

But notwithstanding all that, any car that has a roof you can pull down is fun, "crappy VW cabriolet" or not. (The first new car I ever owned was a 1982 Rabbit convertible.)

get one with a manual transmission. SAAB's too common, and they don't age well..

Find a nice used C70, and you won't regret it.

I promise.

Respiratory & Sleep Medicine in Cleveland. I hadn't been there before so I was raring to go. Well I've not been to a lot of places for that matter so anywhere's an adventure for me. Normally I would be such a stick in the mud but I tried to mingle a little bit and then I met her. I doubt she feels the same as I do but she kept touching my arm and waving with a beaming smile whenever we met. I gave her my card but she didn't give me any kind of contact into. That's ok. It's a world of progress for me to warm up so quickly to anyone I've not met before.
As we parted for the last time I thanked her for her kindness and spending time with me. I don't expect anything more to come of it. But a great feeling nonetheless.

75. Hi, progmom, Yeah, a pretty good weekend, all in all.
I'm in the last few weeks of my profession, so today spent at work was a little wierd. I work in a blood bank, and my donors are regulars, for the most part. And my co-workers are my friends, of course. So I've been saying good-bye to everybody. My co-workers are a combination of happy for me/jealous/sad I'm going feelings...A little tough to work around sometimes. My donors are feeling abandoned, I think. Separation anxiety for everyone...And I'll do the same tomorrow. My last day is April 29th. Definitely weird!

:hi:

79. I went for a hike in Shenadoah National Park on Saturday.
I ended up eating lunch on a rocky cliff overlooking a forested valley. Eventually six or seven deer came up near me to graze and they stayed by my side for close to thirty minutes.

That shit does a lot of the spirit. I was away from idiots and away from Republicans.

Did you take any pics? I can just see the scene...and it's wonderful. Here in the burbs, we don't get any of that...good for you!

82. No, no pictures, but I could easily get them at some point.
I live about twenty miles away from the National Park, so I go up there once a week in the spring and summer or whenever weather permits to just unwind. Another good part is that most of the other people you meet up there are liberal or Democrats (you'd be amazed at the Kerry/Edwards bumperstickers I saw there Saturday), so when you do cross another hiker, chances are they don't have designs to pave the forest for a Wal-Mart.

All the wildlife is protected as well, and without the fear of being hunted they're unusually friendly towards humans (well, if you're relaxed enough around them). As much as I complain about this being such a Republican area and how much I want to move when I complete college, I don't know if I could tear myself away from the parkway.

83. The whole scene just sounds wonderful. I'm never so happy as when I
hear about lands that are truly protected. No paving allowed, ESPECIALLY for Wal*Marts! You might well consider staying there, since it brings you such joy. How's the job market for when you finish college? Talk about getting off the subject! Oh well, that's how conversations are!

86. Well I'm an aspiring writer...
...so I'll be starving no matter where I live. Ideally I'd probably like to live in Northern Virginia where the parkway is still a hop, skip, and a jump away but I'd be in a more liberal urban area during the week. I enjoy the hustle and bustle of the city but I need a nature retreat every now and then.

85. lazy weekend
Saturday: cleaning up, buying shoes, going to the movies with a friend, had that friend coming to my place afterward, dinner and a bottle of wine. Lots of chatting and laughing
Sunday: lazy as hell. Watching TV, eating, reading, sleeping

That pretty much sums it up. :)

116. hello back!! :)
a mixed weekend here in tikrit, iraq, busy as always, getting details taken care, ammo distribution, and sending people on leave!! (my favorite job, doing the paperwork for soldiers going home for leave.) got to see some anime, a buddy loaned me 'lian.' and, i loaned 'day without a mexican' to several guys who wanted to see it. that's a cool movie, good music too.
and my wife back home, artist, is learning some new techniques and getting ready for upcoming art shows. she had a good weekend too and saw some friends.

118. my darling does fine ceramics & raku...
at her studio in the garage, listening to the waves crash on silverstand beach! she's taking a class in santa barbara on a type of silver-clay mix that's fired with a blowtorch, leaving your silver design... sounds cool.
here in tikrit, morale is great as far as i can see. (but i'm an eternal optomist, going into combat with rose-colored glasses.) there's guarded optomism regarding the transition to iraqi authority.
it's great to log on, i'm on a mission that allowed some time to stop by the internet cafe. please have a great day!! :) :hi:
