Lack of curiosity...
I read this article on the front page:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/articles/05/04/08_curiosity.html

after having lunch w/ a few friends today. We started talking about politics and I mentioned Al Franken to which one of my friends asked "Who?" I said, "you know, the comedian who has a show on Air America radio?" Then, to make a rough comparison, I said he's opposite of Rush Limbaugh on the political spectrum.

Then my friend asked "Rush who?"

Mind you this is the valedictorian of my high school asking this question. He's my age (24).

I think the article above nails it...People my age have lost curiosity for things happening outside of their neat little lives. It's sad.

2. I've found that too...
most people I go to school with have no idea about politics, and thought that I was strange to be getting so excited over meeting Al Franken. Or thinks it is stupid to do lit drops during election season. The only positive thing I can say about most of my college friends is that they did vote for Kerry. However I wish they had cared enough to learn the facts themselves rather than just listening to me telling them to vote.
