65. Those maine coons are incredible. So are the pit bulls. all the

animals here are wonderful. in my sig pictures there is a picture of my Tippy sitting up. He did that to get attention. Sometimes when I was in a room, with or without light, I would feel eyes. Then I would look around and he was there sitting up. Sometimes he would sit up with his back to me and be looking over his shoulder.

He died last Monday. I loved him so. RIP, my Tippy. (The other dog is his brother, Andy. He missed him too.)

We don't know what kind of dog he is. He's a pound rescue and a true junkyard dog. My mom was worried when the vet said he might be part pit bull, but I'll have to show her your sweetie - doesn't look like she would hurt a fly. :)

And from personal experience, the bad name they have is WHOLLY undeserved. The "bad" ones are made that way by bad owners, same as any other breed. I have always kept pit bulls, because of their playful, loyal, loving, and clownish nature. Great dogs. Mine lives with four cats and another dog, never had an ounce of trouble with her.

Well, besides the usual "bathroom accidents" and shoe nibbling that any breed can have!

bad, but he's so stubborn that he decided that he likes water now...he jumps into the bathtub, and plays in the water...loves playing with ice cubes in the sink...and when he drinks, he takes the water up on his paw and then licks it, usually ending up splashing all the water out of the bowl and getting it all over the floor...

We named him Hydro...so we have hydro the cat, and my dog (you can see him at the right hand side of the picture) is named Carbon...

So when I come in the door, and they greet me I say Hydro-carbon!!

BTW, I met the only other Brussels Griffon, at my vet's practice, just today. They were coming in as we were leaving. My vet said he'd taken on one other and we finally met him! The lady who has him was just as excited to meet my little guy, since she's never met another Brussels Griffon, in life, either. He can be very amusing, especially those posing with a Furby. Someday, I hope.:D

But my little guys mean the most to me. And I had a pretty amazing visit to the vet's today. On our way out, we met the only other of this rare little breed, a Brussels Griffon, that my vet has as a patient! He told me that he'd acquired another, and we happened to meet him! He's younger, bigger and has a much more undershot jaw, but it was very neat. The lady who has him was equally pleased to meet my little guy, since, like me, she has never met another one in real life, LOL! It was a historic meeting!:D

150. My little guy, believe it or not, was rescue.

He belonged to an older lady who died. She had two, my Meneken and his sister. They had been together for nine years. For some reason, this wealthy woman had made no plans for her pets. They ended up with their groomer, for a couple of months, and he didn't want them, planned to have them put down. One of his clients took them, but only wanted one, and kept the sister, the leader. So they were separated! And my little guy ended up with a guy who he didn't take to and he didn't get on with this guy's beloved, other dog, so HE was threatening to put him down!;(

I had lost my beloved cocker spaniel and thought that HIS sister was lonely, so, one night, on a whim, I called about a cocker, up for adoption, who looked so much like my beloved Barney. The lovely person in rescue, who has become my friend, told me that this dog had been placed, but she knew of another little dog that was in real trouble. And the rest is our history. Could you turn that tiny face down? How could anybody?:shrug:

The thing is, he is rare, and would have been so easy to place. The groomer should have known of breed rescue. But nobody was willing to make the effort, and he just fell through the cracks. He was lost, but now he's found. And I wouldn't trade him for anything. Everywhere I go, he attracts attention, since he's so unusual. I sometimes feel like I'm the snooty lady with the fancy little dog, but nobody can know how close my tiny dog came, twice.;(

But he found someone else who loves him, and totally bonded with his new sister.:-)
