Poll question: Idol Fans: Who did the best last night? who do you want voted off?
Last night was relatively weak, Show tunes just aren't these contestants specialties. I think the standouts were:

Constatine with "My Funny Valentine" (he really does follow the camera with his eyes)

Vonzell with "People"

Nadia with "As Long as He Needs Me"

and Nikko was good on the song from "West Side Story".

I don't think Bo Bice was at his best but he wasn't as bad as Simon said.

Weak links:

Anthony Fedorov and Scott Sabol

and while Carrie Underwood was vocally very good, like Simon said her song was boring.

Who do you think will be voted off tonight? (take poll)

1. Don't know
I haven't been watching ever since the night Bo butchered a BST/David Clayton Thomas song, and the judges praised him to the moon. Yech. Ptooey. If that's "reality," you can have it.

2. I don't think the problem was the theme

I liked the idea of show tunes. Last season, there were several contestants who I thought belonged more on Broadway than posing as a teen idol.
The problem was that the contestants were unfamiliar with musicals. Bo picked a bad song from Pippin, at best a second-rate musical. Scott said his mother picked his song. No one sang anything from Oklahoma and only one selected a song from West Side Story. Those two were huge musicals, with the movie versions on the television. I was just so surprised at the contestants' lack of familiarity with them. I guess it's a generation thing.

3. I think it is generational
The only one who seemed familiar with musical theatre was Constatine.
