Question for webmasters

I'm helping out some fans at a website (host is Yahoo). They want to add video clips provided by their actor-hero, so no copyright infringement will be involved. I've never done this before, and I have these questions:

1. What format does the clip have to be to get online?

2. If Yahoo won't allow an upload, is there another site that would host the clip?

3. Is it worth the hassle?

1. Videos suck up a lot of bandwidth

Especially if its a popular site.

Also, you have to create the clip on Real, Quicktime or Windows Media. I know there are other file types but I can't remember them.
