What helps when you feel overwhelmed and zombie-like?
As if your brain has completely shut down? I feel a little burnt out and would appreciate any tips you have in getting my overworked brain cells to heal :)

7. Music is my personal drug of choice
Pick the music to move you to what state you need to be in.

I used to teach an evening class to a bunch of 4-6 year olds after a
10-12 hour day at a stressful job. Would come home, hit the shower, put on Rod Stewart and dance for an hour. It really get me revved for class.

Gentle music for calming down. New age stuff or Andes Native Flute music for when I needed to get down and draw strength from deep inside me. Dixieland Jazz is good for raising energy level. Billy Joel is for getting tough when have to deal with here-and-now problems .

Try listening to music you don't usually hear and notice how it makes you feel. You might find a whole lotta help that way! Good for the soul too.

11. Thanks, I'm getting some really useful ideas here!
OOooops, that was some sort of sarcasm. I don't know where that came from - usually I am so kind and gentle :)

13. Normal, healthy activities we are no longer allowed to mention.
I rarely smoke anything.
I rarely drink much.
I eat healthy.
I don't gamble.
I never need much sleep.
It just is what it is and I am who I am, so such is life. :D

14. planting seeds ...
Even if it's only for a windowsill box or potted plants.

What really snaps me out of it is watching baby chicks hatching (partly because they're so cute when they're brand new, but also because one has to start rushing around with heat lamps, water bowls, etc.). But that takes weeks to arrange, so I've got to hope that I can "time" my most serious funk for hatching day.
