Oasis has an entry in the Wikipedia.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oasis_%28band%29

They also have individual entries for Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liam_Gallagher
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noel_Gallagher

But check it out, if you look up the Beatles all you see is a page about bugs:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beetles

Score one for Oasis.

2. It's funny.
Oasis does have an entry in Wikipedia.

I get a page about an isolated area of vegetation in a desert.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oasis

There's your Oasis entry.

8. This is what I found doing a search from Wikipedia's homepage
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oasis

Oasis:
In geography, an oasis is an isolated area of vegetation in a desert, typically surrounding a spring or similar water source.

The page provides a link to the band from this page. However, an entry for "Beatles" in the homepage search field takes you directly to:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beatles

The Beatles were the most influential popular music group of the rock era. They affected the post-war baby boom generation of Britain, the United States and many other countries during the 1960s. Certainly they are the most popular group in rock history, with global sales exceeding 1.1 billion records.
