Universal Autonomy and the Religious Right.

I thought that was an interesting post about the religious right and how this philosophy by Descartes scares them. It is interesting. When I took General Philosophy in college, Descartes was among my first readings. I know that he believed in God. He had said so in that reading that he argued for the existance of God. He was even quoted in my church when I went to the Evangelical Church. It makes sense to believe in God while still believing in free will. It is ironic that Religious right types would quote from a man who believes in self determination. While I do like the idea that if you are in a bind, you can call on God to offer help, I hate the idea of predestination and that it is all in God's hands and when something goes wrong, then it is God's plan. :banghead: :banghead:
