@#$&@^%!! Murphy's Law!
Why is it, that during the work week, when I actually need my daughter to be up so that we can get out of here on time, it seems that 80% of the time I am having to poke, prod, and cajole her out of bed at 6:45, and she fights it. Today, a day we could all sleep in? 6-flippin'-15, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, "G'up, mom"...."mom, g'up, watch simba?" "downstairs!"

Meh. I know there are bigger things in the world to complain about, but this is mine, for the moment. I need some coffee.... who's got coffee around here?

2. Thanks Freebird
Are you a morning person, or did something drag you out of bed, too? :)

3. I'm a morning person. I've always looked for ways to avoid waking others.
The light of dawn always gets me up early.

It was nice to snuggle on days when no one had to dress for work.

4. It's the rewarding part of being a parent.

And the reward for the kid is that she doesn't have to rush out of the house and go somewhere. I was the same way as a kid, but my mother put a stop to my little habit of waking her up. I won't say how, because it wasn't good for me. Let's put it this way, I won't go anywhere near her if she is sleeping to this day and I'm 34 years old now.

Maybe you could work with her on letting you sleep in on days you don't have to get up early. Hope you get a nap to make up for it. Back when I used to babysit, I learned how to con them into taking naps. I started a game out of it when they were swinging from the chandeliers and I needed a break too. I'd say let's nappy and pretend to go to sleep. Usually they'd play along and really go to sleep, then I'd get a break. They'll eventually catch on and give you a break if you play them right.

5. Yup, it is!
It's not really that bad, it just seems like without fail, she is up early on the weekends (but not if she stays with my mom, LOL). It's fine, we're hangin' out, reading some books, watching some of Snow White... She's only 2.5, might be a little early to work on letting me sleep. Part of the frustration was my husband saying he'd get up with her and then rolling over and going back to sleep, LOL. Oh well.

I'm sorry to hear that whatever your mom did put such fear into you of her

10. Thanks
She has that way about her. I have to honestly say I wish it had been different. I did get one good, although weird, thing out of it though. I ended up reading both the dictionary and the entire set of encyclopedia's growing up. I am happy about that accomplishment anyhow.
