Saint John - is New Brunswick St. John's - Is Newfoundland I have no idea why they did that... however St John's is supposedly the oldest North American city

I thought it was just a slang term for whatever land was left over after they settled on the rest of the provincial boundaries. Sort of like Canadian for "Wyoming."

Although I have been to Quebec and liked it there, I found many of the native Quebecois to be standoffish and somewhat rude.
