Slint reunion shows in NYC this weekend.....
Weird to say the least. Musically they were incredible. Every note was spot on and hearing the songs off of Spiderland live and at that volume was just a really great thing if you were/are a fan of that band and never got to see them 15 years ago on one of the few times they played. Musically it was intense.

You could tell they were all uncomfortable and awkward up there. Songs would end and there would be 2 minutes of silent. No stage banter. No talking. Nothing. Occassionally Brian McMahon would say one or two barely audible words but most of the time it was just silence.

I'm sure it must be weird for them to be back as a band 15 years later and playing before sold out crowds. But still it was weird and uncomfortable in many ways. But that's a good thing in certain contexts.
