2. Low ratings.

Leno taking over for Carson and Dave going to CBS (as a syndicated show, it appeared on many CBS affiliates) pretty well much signaled the end.

4. I've heard the low ratings claim before...
but the facts don't back it up. I know many people believe race played a bigger issue in the decision to destroy his career than anything else.

5. Despite what your shadowy, unspecified "many people" might believe...
...Hall's show was canceled due to low ratings. Nothing more, nothing less.

6. A 3.9 isn't good enough for you?
That was an amazing number since it was second only to the Tonight Show, and NBC had quite a few more stations carrying Carson than Paramount had stations carrying Hall. There's no shame to being second to Carson.

I know a lot of people here hate Hall since his show was primarily on stations affiliated with FOX, but please give the guy a fair chance. The show was actually produced by Paramount. Fox was just a customer. Also, his father was a Baptist minister. I remember reading a few flames here about Arsenio for having one of those people for a father. I think that's unfair since he has no control over the type of person his father is.

8. Dan Quayle jokes....
Now there's a blast from the past. Every comedian from that period of time owes Quayle a huge thank you for helping to provide them with a living.

9. What no one ever talks about
was the great interview the Clinton's (Bill brought Hillary out) gave for the entire show.
