4. It's St. Patrick's day and you are Irish, if even for a day!
You can't visit any doctor (including dentist) on such a Holiday!

9. Go and get it over with...
It's not so bad. And if your dentist isn't painless, then you need to get a better dentist. Take care of your mouth. It will thank you for it! Good luck. :hi:

16. Got to agree- just go to your appointment
I once went two years without going to the dentist- got all phobic and shit

i was lucky because I am conscientious about oral hygiene, but I go every 6 months now with out fail. Your mouth is part of your body too- I don;t know why the health of your mouth should be any less important than your heart or any other part of your body- any infection you get in your mouth is going to end up in the same bloodstream that goes thru your heart. They are now linking periodontal disease with heart disease, so just suck it up and go.

10. Why do you have a dentist appt.?
If you need to have something fixed, it is best not to put it off. Otherwise, just out of courtesy you should go. You made the appointment and they are expecting you. They probably turned down other appointment requests for this day because you were already scheduled.

17. Don't! It really runs up the costs of a dental practice, and your bills
I'm a dentist, and I can tell you that cancelling an appointment at the last minute will not make you any friends among the dental staff or Dr. Cancelling at the last minute (or on the very day) really gives the office no time to fill that appointment. The average dental office costs about $500/hour just to keep the lights on and staff paid.

Plus, foregoing your treatment will only increase the risk of more procedures being required for your future treatment (meaning more costs).

Take care of your teeth, they're the only ones you've got.
Ignore them, and they'll just go away.

Good luck.

I'm just depressed about it. I've never had this kind of thing just go on and on.

MrsG is very conscientious, she said it 'tongue in cheek'...pun intended. :) :hi:

21. Don't cancel out on this!!
I didn't go to a dentist for about 15 years!! Last Sept I felt something break on a tooth while I was eating so I finally dragged my ass off to the dentist...my tooth hadn't cracked; it was the TARTAR buildup that had cracked! Got a non-painless cleaning and had 3 cavities filled, that was it. I consider myself lucky for getting away with just that! You can bet I'll be going every 6 months from now on...

22. Can't wait to tell dear spouse how supportive everyone is!!
I think it is very tough to be a dentist. No one wants to be there and you have to be perfect every time! So, hug your dentist (figuratively,if appropriate) and show up!

23. Dentists....
I think I read somewhere a few years ago that dentists have the highest suicide rate among all the medical/dental professions.
I guess everybody fears them.

Be kind to your dentist and go!
