"Lost in Space" - was Dr. Smith gay?
Let's see, he seems to suffer to pre-90s TV stereotypes of gay male figures...

I just don't know. The whole show was kinda silly anyway... The 3rd season was kitschy fun though!

4. Four reasons:
1. I'm single
2. I'm gay, so I think I'm accurate in who I accuse :-)
3. I'm depressed
4. Too terrified of strangers to go out, which brings us back to #s 1 and 3! :D

I'll work on #3, then work on #4 by going out and taking more photographs. I'm sure I could find a few good locales... now if only the weather would co-operate...

But think about it!! Yes, early on in the show he was an evil kniving type who just didn't realize he needed to team up with the Robinsons in order to survive... but several episodes later he becomes this pusillanimous cowardly drama queen which makes me look composed and butch-like by comparison! Go watch an episode or two, you'll laugh your socks off, it's so horrendously bad!

Yeah, I suppose it's weird that a 31 year old bloke would talk about a 36 year old kiddie TV show like this...

19. I saw the show
growing up. That was bad enough. LOL

The early space version of Gilligan's Island and I don't know which one was worse.

Everyone on there was crazy...mom was doing the dishes out in space, the kid was always getting into trouble, the family was 'lost' but the planet appeared to be a freeway for at least 3 systems....and in my opinion the robot was the only one who could act.

2. Oh the pain, the pain!
He was either gay, or just a first class drama queen. Whatever he was, he was hilarious. :) I loved Lost In Space, just for the cheese factor. Oh, and for Penny, my first childhood crush.

6. In the first season, Dr Smith was evil
Then for some unexplained reason, beginning with the second season, he turned into a flaming homosexual.

Maybe that happened during a lost episode, who knows what that show's producers were thinking.

13. He sure was portrayed like he was
I kept thinking that every time he was shown. The movie that came out a few years ago kind of reinforced that suspicion.
