The new Yoplait breast cancer commercial
For every tin lid you send to Yoplait, they donate 10 cents to the charity.

That's cool. Each container of Yoplait costs ~$0.60 and I love Yoplait...

But their tagline is "Together we can lick breast cancer". All the women in this commercial just happen to be licking the undersides of the tin lids...

I'm wondering what the average hetero male thinks when he watches the commercial... "Together we can lick breasts", perhaps?

1. I'm hetero, and that's not what I was thinking
I was thinking why are they playing up a paltry 1.3 million, possible mind you, they are gonna donate. Why not just donate the money right now. I was also thinking about the 5 million dollar ad campaign boasting about a possible 1.3 million dollar donation, that was a real head scratcher.

3. Yeah, I've always thought this is a stupid idea
I mean the lids are worthless in themselves, and if this is a ploy to sell more yogurt, they should just pledge to make the donation for every container sold - that should work just as well on consumers. The extra hoops they make the consumers jump through just seem to me like a way to make their actual donation less than what they are advertising that it could potentially be.

4. Quite
Making a TV commercial isn't cheap, nor are the fees to get it broadcast over the airwaves. (When God realizes how humankind and especially Americankind are exploting His creations, He is gonna be pissed...)

They just want people to buy more now. They're using his donation campaign as a gimmick.

And as it costs 37 cents to mail an envelope full of sticky lids they'll just chuck into the trash anyway...

Expect Yoplait yogurt to go UP in price in the near future. Hello, Dannon! Hello, Cub generic brand!

5. Yeah, all I think when I see the ads is...
...I hope the poor schmucks who have to open the envelopes are given gloves.

2. Could be.
On the other hand, that word 'cancer' in there just might detract a bit from the image.
