1. I never remember my dreams - but my grandfather had a very weird dream
which he discussed throughout his life. He had the dream during the time he was working as a railroad engineer in a small Southern town. During those days, everyone wore guns on their hip doing that kind of work. He dreamt that his best friend, who was also an engineer had fallen across the railroad tracks and had said to him: "turn me over...I can't breathe".

He awoke from the dream before dawn to go to his work. When he arrived at the railroad yard, the town sheriff was there, along with several railyard co-workers of his. He found them standing above the dead body of his friend, the one from the dream. His friend was stretched out across the railroad tracks, on his stomach. It was determined that he had accidentally shot himself in the upper chest with his own gun and had drowned in his blood.

7. I am reminded of a dream where my grandfather, who had recently died,
came walking down the hall carrying his casket for me and my cousin (I was all of 10 at the time, cousin 12) to take him to the grave. Thanks, grandpa!:scared:

3. I'm 42 now, but in my teens, during the Iran hostage crisis, I had
re-occurring dreams of the "end of the world". Buildings falling like sheets of ice onto the city streets (no shit). It was always my task to save everybody.
WHAT A TAX! The rescue spaceship would be set to leave at midnight and I'd be rounding up the stragglers at the end of the line. ( After some amazing shit involving elevators and crazy hurricanes and symbols in the sky) Finally, at the ship, the door would close between my hand and the last passenger. And there I would be...left alone, to wait it out.
I have to say, after all these years, I think that particular world that I would have been left alone in makes more sense than the one I live in now. :freak:

8. Now I remember the absolute weirdest:
I went to sleep on the couch after work. Had a dream I was in a restaurant. I asked the waiter if he had Canadian bacon, and he said,"No, but we have Menakum Begin". I don't know how to spell that, but you get the point. That's fuckin' weird!

11. My dream
I once dreamt that I came to work to find all the other women in our office gathered around a co-worker. I went to see what was going on and it turned out everyone was admiring a new ring she had. It was absolutely beatiful -- a huge sky-blue stone with diamonds all around it in little gold "cups" that made it look like a flower. It sounds kind of cheap and gawdy but it was really gorgeous. Anyway, I asked her if I could try it on, and when I did, the stones literally all fell out of the ring, and everyone said "that's why you can't have nice things." That's when I woke up.

The dream was so realistic I actually spent most of my commute trying to figure out how to apologize to the girl whose ring I had "destroyed".

12. I've been told, all the characters in our dreams, are actually ourselves.
So, look at your dream, and put yourself in the place of the person wearing the ring. Has anyone ever destroyed your hopes for the future? Have you ever destroyed your own? Have you ever imagined yourself with the people at your workplace...perhaps they would "destroy" your reality if you let them know about it.
I think that dreams that stick with us, unlike those we tend to forget almost immediately, are quite important. Try to forget the "other characters" and imagine that you are each one. What does it tell you about yourself? And what can you learn from that?

10. Not long after my father died I had this dream...
I was standing in my grandfather's back yard, which is surrounded by woods.
I wasn't alone either, alot of people were with me. I couldn't see their faces and didn't know them.
My father walked out of the woods and hugged all of us. When he hugged me, the look on his face was so sad. When he finished, he walked back into the woods.
BTW, I never got to say "goodbye" to him when he died.
This dream still gives me chills.

13. Perhaps it was you saying goodbye to him. You may be the sad one.
I have had soooo many dreams about my father since he died. And I never dreamt of him before that and we were estranged for 25 years. In every dream he is so cool! And let me tell you, he was NOT cool in his life! I truly believe what I've been told: The characters in our dreams are us. That's me when I see my dad. That's how I would behave, not him. In my dream, he acts like I would act. That is really a geat comfort. To see the contrast that caused our rift.
In your case, that may not be important, but I'm just trying to give you an example of how the "other" in our dreams, may truly be just us.

18. I would believe that.
My dad and I loved each other very much and we were close. I was living about halfway across the country when he died. That I wasn't there to be with him made me so sad, just like I pictured him in my dream.

14. I was hurtling through space and saw a small asteroid that was populated
with thousands of clones of me-scared the living shit right out of me!
It was freakier than "Being John Malkovich" or any acid trip I've been on.

17. It was like an animation on a sheet of black-and-white graph paper.
There were a couple little black dots moving around on it, and a big black block which would slam into the sides and make a noise like a piano slammed into a wall. On the way there, there'd be a voice going like "yaaaa!" with increasing volume and pitch. I woke up with a headache in the middle of the night during this one.

19. Okay I'll let everyone know how crazy I am.
The weirdest dream I have ever had so far in my life.

I was 16 years old and in the dream:

I am sitting in the car and my mother is driving. It is at night and their is a full moon. I look up at the moon to slowly see it become red and long slender dark clouds drift over the moon which then turned into fingers.

Suddenly I am not in the car but in a dark room like area like I am sitting/standing in a balcony area and in front of me and below is Jesus and the world. He is slowly closing his hands around it and it is disappearing in his hands. His face is not mean or kind or an emotions but he is aware of me. As the world disappears I think but can all other religions be wrong. Can it truely end?

His hands swing open allowing the world to return in full view and suddenly growns. I feel myself falling and find myself in the passenger seat of the car.

Now mind you I have NEVER been a fundie of any sort. At that time I was being raised in a Catholic home but began questioning the faith.

I have no understanding of what it means.
