1. Fatima is town in Portugal
In 1917, 3 girls allegedly spoke to the Virgin Mary. Catholics descended upon the town and many thousands witnessed the sun dancing across the sky.
A number of miracles have been associated with fatima

Or, more to your point, try here... Might be what you are looking for, might not

The symbol or design known in Islamic societies as the Hand of Fatima and in Jewish lore as the Hand of Miriam, or in both as "Khamsa", from the Hebrew and Arabic words for "five", serves as an ancient talismanic way of averting the evil eye, or more generally of providing a "protecting hand" or "Hand of God." It appears, often in stylised form, as a hand with three fingers raised, and sometimes with two thumbs arranged symmetrically. The symbol is used in amulets, charms, jewellery, door entrances, cars, and other places to ward the evil eye.

edit - oops, might have to cut and paste that link.

5. thanks for the info
i am still wondering if the "evil eye" is considered the "eye of fatima" or if they are two seperate things, i understand the "hand of fatima" is used to protect/divert from the "evil eye", but i have still not found anything substantial about the "eye of fatima" itself.

6. No, the evil eye is a gaze of a witch that cast a spell
the eye of Fatima or Hand of God is used to avert such a gaze.

7. Blue wards off the devil
Edited on Tue Mar-08-05 10:11 AM by Dufaeth
According to a book I have from 1925 about Palestine: The Jews, Muslims and Christians all used the hand in their homes and shops. The Jews and Christians called it the hand of God and the Muslims called it Fatima's Hand.
The eye is blue because of the Devil's aversion to the color.

edit:

I suspect that is an element retained from Zoroastrianism.

13. I was responding to the "show me" part
I thought you were looking for a pic. :) As I understand it, the eye represents either the omniscience of God (and the hand, Omnipotence) or a blocking of the evil eye through the use of a counterpart that is blue. Beyond that I have no idea. :)

15. Go down to the bottom of the page of this link
http://www.answers.com/topic/evil-eye

and read the wikipedia entry in it's entirety. I believe that will best answer your question. The Hand of Fatima and the Eye of Fatima are inexorably linked.
