oLd (for me anyway) arcade games
on a Lark, i picked up a $20 game for the xbox that has about 20 games on it. i saw at Least 5 of the games i used to Love, Love Love as a kid/teen and decided to grab it.

so, i was so excited to get home and pLay, and i spent a few hours pLaying: rampage, marbLe madness, gauntLet, spy hunter, joust, rampart, smash tv, and paperboy to name a few...

but then the nostaLgia wore off and i remembered how sucky these games were compared to today.

thank god i didn't buy pong.

2. I have that too...
Kinda loses the glitz and glamour when it's free and you can give yourself a hundred lives to start.

But damn, they sure were cool back in the day!

5. do you have pinball on your computer?
it is not bad, but it loses a little thrill when you cannot win free games.

6. No...
On the computer I love spider solitaire and minesweeper. :)

Pinball on the computer, eh... what about ramps and such? Do the layered visuals look decent?

11. if you have spider
I am surprised you do not have pinball. Have you searched? I found it in Program files/windows NT.
There is only one ramp. The visuals seem okay to me and the action is realistic, you can even bump and tilt.

7. Spy Hunter was mine
I bet I wasted $500 on that as a teenager.

I finally got my fix back in the mid-90s when MAME (the Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) came out. I was running that poor old 233Mhz MMX into the ground playing those old games.

Nowdays, give me FreeCell any day. Leave the shoot-em-ups to the kids.

8. Those games do NOT suck!
They rocked. PERIOD! They were from an age that only one generation of us got to see, where game creators were interesting and creative.

The days before Double Dragon destroyed everything, and every single arcade game became its clone, or some 1st person shoot 'em up.

Those were the days. *sigh* How the mighty have fallen.

or you would have been playing Asteroids, Missile Command, Galaga, and Pac-man. I still like those games, and also wish I had "Road Warrior" on my PC.
