Today in history - 1916, the Red Sox won the World Series
October 12, 1916, Red Sox won the world series. They went on to win one more, in 1918. Too bad they won't get it again this year! HA HA HA HA!

Also interesting is that in 1904 there was no world series becuase New York refused to play against the Red Sox.

It's weird looking through that list and seeing "Brooklyn".
