So my girlfriend has this co-worker who tried to convince her to vote for Bush based solely on the tax cuts for the wealthy. Which is funny because my girlfriend isn't in a tax bracket that she would get any benefit from Bush. Her co-worker has a similar paying job, but also has a rich attorney husband who makes a ton. So she doesn't know anything about the current tax code, any clue as to how much my girlfriend makes, or a better guess: neither.
Anyway, my girlfriend is friends with this co-worker. I've met her, when you aren't talking politics, she's a nice person. Like other days, they went to work out at a nearby gym during their lunch hour. The co-worker and my girlfriend put their stuff in lockers, but the co-worker didn't care to lock her locker. Her coat gets stolen and it's freezing outside. Well my girlfriend at least had a scarf and a long sleeved shirt whereas the co-worker had a short-sleeve shirt and nothing else. So my girlfriend offers her co-worker her coat for the walk back to work AND the evening because the co-worker has a farther distance to walk than my girlfriend.
When my girlfriend told me this story, I told her that she should have said to her co-worker, "You need to pull yourself up by your boot straps! By not having a coat this time, perhaps you will learn to protect your belongings and make due without a coat."
We Democrats are just too generous I guess.
