Picturesque Northern Arizona! With TRAIN!
Nini took this awesome shot from I-40 westbound, after our jaunt to Meteor Crater on Sunday! Not bad from a moving car!

She couldn't have planned the timing of the train any better! :D

2. The Meter Crater is awesome, isn't it?
Edited on Wed Mar-02-05 11:45 PM by enigmatic
In alot of ways, it's more spectacular then the Grand Canyon, IMO. I love Northern Arizona; I lived in Phoenix for most of the 90's and tried to get up there whenever I could..

18. Another Sedona fan here.
My wife and i have made 4 trips there. Did ya hike to the top of Bell Rock. On our way to Payson,( where my brother lives ) we went through a couple of towns, Pine and Strawberry, they are to the south, south east of Sedona, you need to check them out.

By the way
You were right, a little time off from posting works wonders, missed you guys.

20. Glad You're Back
The Princess and I aren't hikers, due to the fact that we both have back injuries from car accidents. But we've been to Sedona three times now. It's a shame that too many people go there who don't appreciate the fact that the area is sacred to Native Americans.

One time, we were at a spot on the road to the airport where there are two hills. There was a group of idiots on the top of one hill, yelling to their friends at the top of the other hill. Meanwhile, The Princess and I were in the valley between the hills, near where two medicine wheels had been constructed. We were sitting on a log, and had just lit some sage. Just then, a Native American man walked by. I looked at him and he smiled and nodded his head, as if to thank me for respecting their holy place.

22. The entire place has been so over commercialized it's sicking.
(just lit some sage.)
I've smelled more than just sage burning many times. We took a hike up Boyton Canyon came across some kids stacking rock and smoking dope. They were quite and harmless, i just walked on by.

11. weird
This has happened to someone else before (they couldn't see a pic of mine), and they asked in AtA, and that didn't get to the bottom of it either. It still shows up for me, so I don't know what to suggest. :-(

15. I see it now
Nice photo.
I would suggest cropping the bottom of it to make it even better, starting about a centimeter beneath the first tree on the right.
Just my two cents as a member of the DU photography group.

Nobody will even know it was shot from a moving car.

and only 12 more weeks for us!!!

I cannot wait to meet you, and Nini---If she likes you, then I know I am going to like her!

Stephanie

PS--bring your digital camera please, Nini...we don't have one, and I want to email my Republican boss a photo of DUers at the Grand Canyon while I am wearing my "Sweet Jesus, I hate Bill O'Reilly T-shirt." He really needs to have his suspicions confirmed!!!
