That's right, I am bragging on myself. I got the call from my doc this week and I get to celebrate 5 years of my HIV viral load being undetectable.

I owe it all to my incredible willpower. I have missed exactly 1 dose of my medications in the five years I have been taking them.

That's a adherence rate of 99.97% (or 3649 doses out of 3650)

a friend of mine just past his 21 year milestone with HIV. I still remember him blubbering he was going to die when he was diagnosed and me telling him to knock it off and get educated. He's never even been sick. :D

I've also had HIV for about 20 years. I just didn't have to take meds until January 2000.
