1. That is a trippy movie
Look for the part where the older dude is speaking to the younger dude about reality.

Smoke 'em if you got 'em.

3. Just remember, it's ALL TRUE
at least it felt true at the time.

But, most likely it was just the Drugs the author was taking at the time.

I really like the part where.......not gonna do it

4. The movie is great.
Edited on Sat Feb-19-05 09:35 PM by Lautremont
Comparing it to the book is absolutely pointless, because it's not the book. It's its own animal, weaving bits from the book, bits from other Burroughs books and bits from his life together with a great Howard Shore / Ornette Coleman score and a transvestite Roy Scheider.

Enjoy!

On edit: I bought the Criterion double-disc edition I love it so much, and let me tell you, it was more than two bucks.

8. Strange symbolism
Once you grasp that, it helps the flow of the movie.

9. It has almost nothing to do with the book.
The credits should have read, "Based on the life and writings of William S. Burroughs."
