My dog kept me up most of last night

and I am so tired. I'm not sure what he wanted. He woke me up at 1:00am scratching at the door wanting to go out. I tried to hold out as I didn't want this to be a habit. Okay, 1:30 I let him outside for 10 freaking minutes, brought him back into the house. Okay, I get settled in my bed, he wants outdoors again, let him out again. did not do anything but run around the yard and bark, wanted in, we repeated the samething. 4:30 he is doing the same thing, I just finally yelled out "no, I am not taking you out again." He huffed around the bedroom and finally fell alseep, but then it was time for me to wake up. He was so hyper last night and this morning. He just would not be still. I'm home all day, can't get him to budge during the day. Guess I have a night dog?

5. My dog was acting strange too

He woke me up at 4:30am- I let him out, and back in, then back out after he would not settle down. He was acting weird outside- like he didn't really have to go, was just upset about something.

I let him back in and he paced back and forth through the apartment until I finally got up and got dressed and took him to the woods- his favorite place and mine- for a long walk. Then he was more like himself and I was home with him anyway today.

My dog is 12 going on 13 and he has these 'spells' where he acts panicky every now and then. My vet gave me xanax for him but I didn't have any on hand last night- and it doesn't work if he is already too wound up when you give it too him. He paces, hides under things, and paces some more. The thing is- it happens all different times of day. It happens when I have been with him for 24 hours and nothing strange is going on. If he is freaked out by a thunderstorm that's one thing, but the vast majority of the time I have no idea whats wrong and he can't tell me.

Talk to your vet if it happens too often. He is reacting to something but its hard to figure out what it is. I think mine is just getting old and senile.

some of it applies, some doesn't - his weird times are episodes in between long periods of normal behavior. He always seems to be ok in the car- I don't know why.

My dogs went absolutly NUTZ when we had a partial lunar eclipse last year.

Here's my dog story of the week. My dog Moe decided he would sleep with me the other night. He was quiet and just napped by my feet. He was a good boy and didn't disturb my sleep at all! I guess he had to poo in the middle of the night, being the nice dog he is he decided not to wake me up. He went as close as possible to the kitty box as he could, I guess he figured if it was good enough for the cats......

Maybe you need to take him out for a walk at night before bedtime, or some outside play time?

they always sleep through the night and beyond. This is two nights in a row. He is 16 years old.

15. My doggie has been doing the same thing,

butI think she has an upset stomach because she has been searching for anything green to eat. And since everything is dead and brown right now, she has been eating whatever green leaves she can find. I try to discourage her from doing that, since those plants only make her sicker. After about the third trip outside, I finally say what you did, "No, we are not going out again." Sometimes it works and sometimes not.
