Dang CD BURNER creates tracks that skip towards the end

I have no idea why this happens. I'm using the latest Nero software, Memorex 80min blank CD-R's, and a decent burner. Even when burning my CD's at the lowest speed possible -- 4x -- tracks at around 70minutes+ skip around like they were playing jumprope.

1. Redbook standard is 2x..

I never burn music any faster than that. Plus what sort of media do you use. SOme are more compatible than others. Most times it's just trial and error. Also make sure the media is as dust free as you can get it before you start burning. And don't multitask.

2. 70+ minutes

That's your problem, you are putting too much on one disc. Even though the discs are supposed to hold 80 minutes, I've rarely seen audio burn reliably much past 65-67 minutes worth on a disc.

Too much data.

4. Same problem with disk longer than 70 minutes

The blanks say 80 minutes of audio but it consistently screws up any tracks at the end.
