Poll question: How do you pronounce 'syrup'?
Okay, just another regional dialect poll from your ever-curious pal, Aristus. Come on, give, give, give. I was born and raised in Texas, and now live in Washington State. And I have always said 'seer-up'.

How do you pronounce "Kucinich"? My virgin European ears, spared American media, have never heard the word spoken.

ON EDIT: Oh, in France we say "seer-o." ;-)

Koo-sin-itch, accent on the second syllable. I hope that translates. :-)

12. Thanks all
That's kind of what I suspected. But wasn't sure if the middle syllable got some sort of Italian treatment... "cheen."

Hmmm, why am I suddenly reminded of Pickle's "unreachable itch"? ;-)

Say it with me:

"Koo-SIN-itch". I can't believe none of the European media have uttered his name yet.

it really depends on how bad my drawl is when I say it. Sometimes it's just "surp". :-)

16. Mmm...syrup...
Edited on Mon Oct-06-03 09:48 AM by VelmaD
I like it on pancakes and waffles and biscuits.

Now granted, I'd like to pour it on my "partners" but you'd be surprised how twitchy guys can be about having syrup stuck in their body hair. ;-)

17. Ouch! My fault for asking, I guess.
I've done honey and ice cream, but not syrup. Guess it would be similar to honey, which I didn't have a problem with. Yes, sticky, but mmmmmmmmmm! ;-)

18. I'm sure the fact that I prefer...
super-sticky TJ Blackburn cane syrup to maple syrup doesn't help matters.

Hell, if they'd just shave it wouldn't be a problem.

Were you the lick-er or the lick-ee in the honey story? Might make a difference in whether you had a "problem" with it or not. ;-)

I love the way we just hijacked my own thread. :-)

Okay, now here's a tough one. Br'er Rabbit Blackstrap Molasses. If you want to 'hold on' to your beau, this is a good way, I bet. I've never tried it "in the field" so to speak, but man, is it STICKY!

20. I can find a way...
to make ANY thread about sex. Hell, with syrup it didn't even take any effort at all. :-)

Mmm...mollases. If I get a chance to "field-test" it I'll let you know the results. I got someone who promised me "whatever you want" for my birthday. Bwahahahaha...he'll never know what hit him.

21. Whew, whatever you want, huh?
In place of the sadly closed Grotto, I suppose I could start food threads and see where they lead!

But then, I have to be a good boy. :(

a good boy. And that's fine. Says something about your fine and upstanding character. :-)

I on the other hand, can be as bad as I want to be.

If you wanta open the Grotto and serve donuts feel free. I'll be there with bells on. :-) And I promise not to be too obscene with the eclairs. ;-)
