12. Van Halen II was recorded in approximately 6 days in 1979
....and still sounds better than any Van Hagar album that took several months to make.

The majority of the songs on the album already existed from Van Halen's club days on the LA scene with the exception of "Dance the Night Away" which was written especially for the album and released as the first single. Also the remake of Linda Ronstadt's "You're No Good" actually started out as an original song called "Down in Flames", but for whatever reasons, WB rejected the song, so they kept the music and turned it into a cover.

And the cast DLR is wearing on his ankle in the inner sleeve is from an injury he sustained doing the leap on the back cover.

7. I don't know.
But it seems a lot of bands who are cool once upon a time give it up and sell out to the man. It would have been cool if they did.

14. People on Roth army think that Alex is the control freak.
Eddie is essentially a dysfunctional drunk and an asshole in their book.

16. Well, that's basically true now.
Because Alex sobered up and Eddie's still a fucking train wreck waiting to happen. At least back then he could still play guitar. I heard a boot from that pathetic Van Hagar tour last year and Eddie sounded as bad as Sammy did.

8. Van Halen.
Van Halen II was the second album Van Halen ever released. That is why it is called Van Halen II, not because it is the second line-up of the band.

17. Van Hagar was much much better
David Lee Roth is a scum bag. I think most people like one or the other not both. Van Halen was good. Van Hagar was awesome. One of the best concerts I have ever seen.

Besides Hagar is a Repuke.

20. I didn't know he was a repuke
When I saw them he said this long speech about how he is against the death penalty and the value of life. Then he did "Where Eagles Fly" with just an acoustic guitar. It was great. I don't mind his voice. Like I said....I think most people like one or the other not both.

all about "the one in my avatar." And I do know that he is frequently bashed on this website although I don't understand why.

25. Well he certainly had some moments.
Such as "Slippery When Wet" and parts of "New Jersey". I don't know from experience but I've heard his love was like bad medicine.

26. They still sell out every show.
Last time I saw them in 3/03 they played for 2 1/2 hours. Bad Medicine was written about one of Richie Sambora's girlfriends. I wonder if it was Cher or Ally Sheedy? Then he married Heather who is a repuke....

31. Yes, he dated Cher. It was very publicized and they dated
for quite a while. All I can say is EEEEEEEWWWWWWWWW!!!!! Even though Heather is a repuke, at least she is pretty and doesn't look like Elvira.

Keep the Faith. Dry County is my favorite song. I could listen to it 24/7. Husband hates them. Tells me I am brainwashing the children.

21. Well, the album was a Roth album.
Hagar could sing when he was in Montrose. He did more than just scream back in those days. He actually had a low end to his voice.

35. I admire him for doing something productive
but, I just hope he takes it seriously. He just doesn't seem like the "paramedic type." He would fit more into a reality TV thing with Dennis Rodman or Anna Nicole Smith.
