Who has traveled overseas and returned heartbroken for another country?

Please tell of your experiences, because I love to hear them. I've been to Honduras several times on work camps and never cease to be amazed at their bravery and their hearts. Two of the three times I went to Choluteca which was one of the hardest hit areas by the flooding during hurricane Mitch. Every person was affected. Everyone lost friends and family in the flooding, not to mention sometimes all of their possessions. I also have been to Mexico three times, two of them being to learn Spanish. There are so many other places I want to go though! Brazil, Mozambique, Haiti, Iraq, Sierra Leone, Cambodia, Ethiopia...Everywhere! So, please share your stories of all these beautiful places:-)

Beautiful countryside, laid back Canadians. Love it. Going back in July.

Went to Brazil for two weeks last year and had a great time. Get out of the big cities and travel in the smaller ones. Nobody speaks English, really, but we got along fine anyway. Great food, polite folks, lovely scenery.
