Official "what's for dinner?" thread
At the DTBK dwelling, it's week-old desiccated Pizza Hut pizza (Thin & Crispy/beef topping).

10. Teriyaki Chicken w/ mushrooms and Provolone
I have had 5 boneless, skinless chicken breast fillets marinating in a teriyaki marinade for about 24 hours now. I shall grill them, brushing them with the marinade throughtout. When they are nearing doneness, I will sautee some fresh mushrooms and onions in soy sauce and butter, pile it on the breasts, cover with a thick slice of provolone and let the cheese melt.

YUMMY!

Teriyaki Marinade:

1 Cup soy sauce (Kikkoman lite is good!)
1/2 cup pineapple juice
1/2 cup vegetable/canola/corn oil... your choice
4 tablespoons brown sugar
3 cloves garlic, crushed
3 tsp fresh ginger, minced

I almost never ask "whats for dinner" because he usually replies "food". It's always good! It's great to have a former chef as a husband. I never do the grocery shopping either!:headbang:

33. Sure!
First, I get a good round steak. Then I go buy a can of tomato sauce and that McCormick's Swiss Steak packet that comes with the oven bag and everything. I throw it together, stick it in the oven and take it out an hour later. lol

These days I don't put a lot of effort into really cooking. Sometimes I'll do something fun on weekends like my chicken pot pie (ALWAYS sautee the chicken in butter & garlic first, and add Pepper Jack cheese to the broth, it's awesome!), but during the week it's strictly what I can fix fast and with a minimum of effort.

34. Do you tenderize your steak beforehand?
I find round steak chewy and dry but if I tenderize the steak it is not chewy.

38. Mine isn't usually chewy
It seems like whatever McCormick puts in their mix does a good job tenderizing the meat. I usually cook meals about 25 degrees less than the directions call for, and about 5 or 10 minutes longer.
