What would you tell me if I said that.....
Edited on Sat Jan-29-05 05:33 PM by Bouncy Ball
I haven't seen any news (not even The Daily Show) OR checked out LBN in over two days?

Would you sum up the biggest stories for me?

Would you throw rotten tomatoes at me and curse my lack of willingness to listen to the media whores?

Am I missing anything really big?

I have this blissful ignorance thing going on right now, just muching on candied peanuts, drinking Diet Coke, wearing my fuzzy slippers, and wondering if I should shatter the mood with the news?

1. Well, the US embasssy was bombed in Baghdad
But that's OK because Smirk asked Congress for $1.5 BILLION to build a new one. You can't make this stuff up!

4. You're making that up, right?
Did that really happen?

Sheesh....

6. No, it's the truth....
Fuzzy slippers and diet coke sound better than reality.

2. I quit watching all that stuff
- including The Daily Show - on November 3, and life has been a lot nicer and less agitated since then.

Keep the contentment. I suspect we're not missing anything.

Have you tried Diet Coke with Lime? We just brought in ten cases.

5. My husband adores it.
I prefer mine straight up, or maybe with a smidge of Crown Royal. LOL!

3. Hrm, I'd say good for you
Everyone needs a break sometimes (or often...)

We saw Jon Stewart live last night (no news, just comedy), but I've only gotten tidbits from browsing the 'latest' for the last few days.... So I'd say, I hear ya on the blissful ignorance once in a while!

8. I was a news junkie since Cronkite's heyday
In the Watergate era, in fact. When CNN came around in the 80's, I had the IV drip of 'news' going in me constantly.

Gave it all up the day after the 'election', and I don't regret it. I am happier than I have been in years.

Don't be hard on yourself. You certainly won't get scorned by me.

9. How could I get scorned by you,
The sweetest teddybear on DU?

(That rhymed.)

I gave it all up on November 3. Newspapers, "news" magazines, TV news. Even had our satellite service cut off (a good friend does TiVO The Daily Show for me each week).

Feels DAMN good.

10. LBN is my only source for news now...
I got tired of yelling :wtf: at the TV.
