1. haha
You asked for it man. What do I think of cheerleaders? not my type but that doesn't mean I haven't been attracted to any in the past or present for that matter. I prefer non-cheerleaders that said.

3. Competitive cheerleading is very athletic.
Those people work their asses off for their routines. High school level and below, I think it's harmless. Cheerleaders for professional sports seems kinda silly, frankly.

5. I don't really think about them at all.
The last time I thought about cheerleaders was at a basketball game a few weeks ago.

The cheerleaders were cute young girls, early twenties, all healthy-looking girls. Another woman and I were discussing them, and how glad we were that they weren't painfully thin. Certainly, they were slender, but not overly so.

Yet another woman from our group came over to our table and started talking about how "fat" the cheerleaders were and how she'd be embarrassed to wear those uniforms if she were "fat" like that.

I was appalled.

And that's as much as I've thought about cheerleaders recently. I don't have any problem with cheerleaders.

6. Unnecessary, but nice to look at.
I attended Texas A&M, and our crowds are as loud as anywhere, and we had no cheerleaders.

10. At some fundamentalist Christian high schools...
sports programs for girls aren't allowed. Cheerleading is however. Jack Hyles high school (I think it's in Hammond, IN) is one that comes to mind.

11. Every year...
...I ask all my friends and relatives for a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader for my birthday. And every year I leave my birthday party disappointed. :(
