Due to be released here in the U.S. this coming Tuesday -- my local record store gave it to me TODAY!

Never ever would've happened at a chain store; in fact, I don't even know if they would've even carried it, since it's on a smaller label.

So SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL RETAILERS, baby!!!

2. First CD in over ten years

They haven't been around to listen to until recently. My all-time favorite band, they reformed about a year or so ago & are touring. Saw them at a free festival this summer and lost my friggin' mind!!! :D

5. I didn't ask why they called me early

I special ordered it a couple of days ago, and they called me yesterday to come get it.

The CD was released internationally this past week, and they might have confused it for the U.S. release date in giving it to me early. I didn't make it an issue for fear of having to wait til Tuesday.

Doesn't matter - I have it, and I'm giddy. I always shop there anyway, as the chains are still suckering people into buying CDs at inflated $17.99+ prices.

7. I was only asking

so I could silently give them a thumbs-up...I have loads of friends still working around there. I myself broke street date many times in order to make some rabid fan of one band or another's day. :D
