Seriously, it's the only show I have to rewind on Tivo a lot to figure out what they're saying.

People, you're actors! Speak clearly! It's one of your few requirements beyond looking good.

I'm the only one.

I have 30 shows on my Season Pass... West Wing is the only one I have trouble hearing.

2. I don't watch

West Wing, so I can't comment on that show, but sometimes the sound mixing isn't very good on TV, and background noise is competing too much with dialog. Plus, your hearing is probably getting worse, as hard as it is to admit.

I have a 17 year old son who frequently speaks very softly so that I can't quite make out what he says and when I ask him to repeat he does not speak any more loudly or more clearly.

And I'm sure my hearing isn't quite as good as it used to be.

I'm sure my hearing isn't as good as it was when I was young.... too much Rock and Roll.

But West Wing is the only show I seem to have this problem with.

4. My wife has amazing hearing and watches West Wing...

I just asked her if they "mumble" and she said yes; she has noticed the mumbling as well.

5. i think it's no more worse than when they spoke a million miles/hour

all the while talking about policy. those were the good days, when you absolutely had to pay attention to every second of the show and you felt like you got smarter watching it.
