Anyone here a fan of HBO's series "Carnivale"?

1. I loved the first season

But I haven't started to watch the second season yet. I think I'm afraid of being disappointed.

Yeah, now that you mention it, it is sort of "Standish," and that would be another reason for me to be disappointed. But, we've got On Demand, so I'll catch up.

The one I'm really enjoying is on Showtime, called "Huff." Very edgy and smart series, starring Hank Azaria, Oliver Platt, and Blythe Danner. Really strange show. It's very good.

2. Shux - I don't have Showtime - I'll have to wait until that series

is available on DVD. When we first started watching "Carnivale" - it captivated us but we found/find it difficult to translate to others just what it is about.
Just Who or What is 'Management'? That character is being revealed (somewhat) this season. Yes, you'll have to catch up. I haven't been disappointed yet.

4. I tried getting 'into' Deadwood but couldn't.

Don't know why - just struggled with the first episode. Did it get increasingly better after that one?

12. What I Liked About the Deadwood EP I watched

is how the script really plays with the language. The dialog is beau.

Just couldn't get into the story, though.

8. Me! Alas, can't get it where I'm at now

I bought the 1st season on DVD and am nursing my wounded spirit by re-watching them.

I envy everyone getting to see the new season. :)

tonight's episode was pretty wild. I hope they don't leave us hanging at the end of the season.

"Deliverance" came to mind a couple of times. When the Rev asked the girl if her momma taught her to pray. And the whole hillbilly scene at the end.

I'm hooked on this show.
