What is the key to being happy in life?
Just about to go to college, so I'm in a "how's my life gonna be" frame of mind.

I crave your wisdom....

At the moment I'm inclined to think that the key to being happy in life is a ready supply of pesto...

It is impossible to find happiness within oneself and almost as difficult to find it in other people

7. I'm young, but I've found
That being a good person and surrounding yourself by good people can keep you happy in life. I have been dearly dearly blessed in this department. But you also have to always keep an open mind and have a positive attitude. You can get out of life what you put in it. Remember, the good times could never seem so good without the bad times! (you may have to repeat that over and over in your head to believe it, but it's true!)

9. May your boat of life be light,
packed only with what you need; a homely home and simple pleasures, someone to love and someone to love you, one or two friends, worth the name, a cat, a dog, a pipe or two, enough to eat and enough to wear and a little more than enough to drink; for thirst is a dangerous thing.

Giving, working, relaxing, pleasure, and love (many forms- romantic, friendship, family).

I've had a lot of giving, working, and fortunately a degree of love. I'm due for other things I think now as well.

sucess = material wealth. Too many sad people run off like eager little gerbils to accumulate as much trash as they can before they fall off their perch. Life is beautiful. Wasting it accumulating piles of useless "stuff" is pathetic.

You'll love college. It's much more than academic stuff at that. Interaction with people etc. Five happy years for me.

Just my $0:02c.

edit: krap gramma

16. more moments of FLOW. Flow is being so into something, sex,
work, hobbies, ANYTHING, that you lose total track of time, forget about everything else for that time and you totally live in the moment. Fill your life with as many things that create flow as possible !

17. Let's see
Don't bog yourself down with other people's baggage. Be a friend, but not their luggage.
Be true to yourself
Relationships can be over-ratted. Don't concern yourself with finding your "soul-mate". What happens..happens.
Life is easy...just breath.
