"I'm the happiest girl in the whole U.S.A."
More from the '70s Torture Chamber!

Good morning morning, hello sunshine, wake up sleepyhead.
Why'd we move that Beau-jangle clock so far away from the bed?
Just one more minute, that's why we moved it, one more hug or two.
Do you love waking up next to me as much as I love waking up next to you?

You make the coffee, I'll make the bed.
I'll fix your lunch and you fix mine.
Now tell me the truth, Do these old shoes look funny?
Honey it's almost time.
Now you be careful, gotta go.
I love you, have a beautiful day,
and kiss the happiest girl in the whole U.S.A.

Skipp-a-dee-doo-da, thank you Lord
For making him for me.
And thank you for letting life turn out
the way that I always thought it could be!
There once was a time when I could not imagine how it would feel to say:
I'm the happiest girl in the whole U.S.A.

Shine on me sunshine, walk with me world,
it's a skip-a-dee-doo-da day!
I'm the happiest girl in the whole USA.

1. Are you a DJ?
You seem to have a vast storage of pop/rock music in your mind.

If you can, could you help out a relative and me with this song.

It came out in the late 1970's-early 1980's.

It used to be on the New York City (WNEW) top hits when the song was popular. We only ever heard it in NY.

Some of the lyrics we can remember:

"Judy's the queen of the high school scene
she's a diamond in the rough
leather-and-lace...

She's cute, tough teen
there's so much that I want to show her..."

"and she's the head majorette..."

I didn't say it was a good song, just one that is driving us crazy trying to remember who sang it and the name of it.

YOu will be the King Of Music if you can get this one.
:hi:

5. Yes, I am.
And here's my website: www.soulexpressradio.com

As for the lyrics you posted: they sound familiar, but I can't come up with a title or an artist right now. Perhaps if I wrack my brain for you after a good night's sleep...?

6. Bless you!
'Cause my relative and I are really driven nuts by this song. I will ask her for more lyrics; perhaps she can remember more. We have googled, schmoogled, I have pored over obscure music books in libraries...

It was a catchy tune, dumb lyrics, reminds me of my youth.

Thanks in advance, and PM me anytime.

I adore music and know a lot myself.

10. My God! That song had almost sunk to the very depths of my memory
where it would swim around the endless sea with the other great songs of yesteryear like:

"You Can't Rollerskate in a Buffalo Herd"

"Yellow Polka Dot Bikini"

"The Girl Wearin' Nothing but a Smile and a Towel with her picture on the billboard in the field near the big old highway!"

"Ahab the Arab"

and, of course,

"Queen of the House"
