Ted Nugent: Another example of hypocrisy. Draft-dodger.
Nugent was a longtime resident of Concord, Michigan. However in December 2004, he announced he would officially become a resident of Texas in 2005. He and his family had moved to Crawford, Texas in mid-2003. Nugent continues to own his property in Concord. Even after moving to Texas, Ted stated in a Detroit Newspaper, he would return to run for Governor of Michigan, in the future.

Nugent avoided the draft during the Vietnam War. According to the July 15, 1990 Detroit Free Press Magazine, Nugent claimed that he tried to avoid the draft:

"He claims that 30 days before his draft board physical, he stopped all forms of personal hygiene. The last 10 days, he ingested nothing but Vienna sausages and Pepsi; and a week before his physical, he stopped using bathrooms altogether, virtually living inside pants caked with his own excrement, stained by his urine. That spectacle won Nugent a deferment, he says. ‘... but if I would have gone over there, I'd have been killed, or I'd have killed, or I'd killed all the hippies in the foxholes...I would have killed everybody.’"
This has led to criticism, with many alleging hypocrisy.

1. I remember Nuge
when he made an anti-drug commercial that aired on MTV.

So don't do drugs, folks. You may end up a gun-obsessed right-winger.

6. Wearing caked feces for paints, stained with urine.
I'm guessing by the looks of him that he hasn't bathed since.

9. Actually, Nuge never did drugs
He was crazy enough on his own, clearly. The lesson is do drugs or you may end up a gun-obsessed right winger.

Still love his guest appearance on Aqua Teen Hunger Force. "Anyone without a knife, a gun, and a handercheif, and a chap stick get the fuck out of here."

5. Michigan is so lucky to be rid of him.
I think they'll sniff him out pretty quick in TX. He seems a bit odd for the down home crowd.

7. I met Uncle Ted once.
My brother is a hunter, and Ted and his wife wrote a cookbook with recipes for game animals, plus he was gonna be at Border's singing them so I went. He asked me if I hunt and I said my brother did but not me (I live in the city with no car) and he said that I should because the more time I spend in predator mode, the more it will help me out in other areas of my life. He said I was learning at the feet of the old man, but he seemed more serious than you probably just pictured he was when he said that.

He's one of those people who I disagree with but still admire.

15. He was singing recipes at Border's?
Sorry, I know it was a typo and he was signing books rather than singing recipes but I couldn't resist.

23. Ha ha ha ha!
Nah, he didn't even bring a guitar. He did bring along some member of his organization to get people to sign up. He said that Ted Nugent can more easily get more media exposure than Wayne LaPierre, so that's why you shouldn't just give all your gun activism money to the NRA.

8. And why would he move to Crawford, Texas?
Is he in love with Chimpy? Or just desperate to be invited over for a meal of raw possum and tater tots?

16. I can't stand the guy.
Liked his music years ago before I realized how awful he is. But, I never heard about the pedophile thing. Does anyone have any 'less than awful' details? I wouldn't put it past him. His hunting obsession turned me off even before his freepdom did.

21. It's the same old story here.
It doesn't mean anything if a staunch repug dodged the draft or preyed on underage girls. We're told it's a personal matter and to stay out of their private lives. That's why we need funding for a new arm of the media, one for Democrats, an anti-Faux news.
