I'm not here to get anyone to stop smoking, but after perusing through all the various "Buy Blue" websites I was suprised that there are a few Tobacco compannies that give more to democrats than republicans.

If I'm willing to sacrifice my cat's favorite food (CEO gave over $100k to repukes), then I'm asking all smokers (the kind you can get in stores) to try and switch to a "Blue" brand:

Here are a few "Buy Blue" websites:

http://www.cobb24.com/?p=Q2lnYXJldHRlcw==&cl=R2VuZXJhbCtHcm9jZXJpZXM=&k=cHJvZGVt

Blue Brands include:

Liggett Vector Brands: (84% Blue)
Canyon
Eve
Grand Prix
Jade
King Sport
Perfect Blend
Pyramid
Ralphs
Shurfine

Lorillard Corporation: (81% Blue)
Kent
Max
Newport
Old Gold
Satin
True
USA

5. I fed them Nutro Products
I'm switching to Royal Canin instead. They're based in France, high quality cat food and no donations to any political parties in the United States

37. Friggin' Nutro!! That's what I buy...urgh...
Edited on Tue Jan-11-05 11:54 PM by AllyCat
I went to that site, but couldn't figure out how to look up pet food brands. Dang them!

Well, I can keep buying OneEarth from the natural foods store, but it is pricey when not on sale.

How do I find Nutro on that site? They weren't listed in Pet Supplies. Unfortunately, I must continue to buy Yesterday's News litter (80% Repuke) because it's the only variety that does not set off an asthma attack in one of my cats. Sigh...

10. I was thinking the same thing...
Game Show Network used to show a show from the 1950's that was sponsored by Old Gold, so they remind me of a bygone era.

I don't see anything on there that will be even remotely good (or available where I am.)

Camels are going to have to do.

21. Ick.
Marlboros give me heartburn. I used to smoke M Lights, until I quit (aka, took a break) and after that, I could no longer tolerate Marlboros.

Camels all the way, blue or not, damn it!!!! (spoken like a true addict)

27. The most recent experience
Was from a woman I work with who quit smoking New Year's Day. She gave me her last pack. Let's just say Marlboro Lights and a rotten-ass hangover don't go well together.

Camels just taste so much better...

and supported Santorum.

That seems a little strange.

12. Actually that is correct
Teresa has more to do with the Heinz Endowment funds than she does with the Ketchup product.

That was the funniest thing about that whole W Ketchup that was made - Heinz Corporation was always a red company

13. Theresa Heinz-Kerry is only on the board of directors...
she doesn't own a majority of the stock so really she has not much say in the business...Try explaining that to freepers and what do they do...boycott Heinz and make their own catsup! The dumbasses are boycotting a company that gives to their own kind

15. Off Topic but..
I'm so glad I looked at The List. My cable company is 100% blue. RCN and they gave to Ed Markey who voted against certifying the Ohio electoral vote. It was a choice between RCN and Comcast in my area and I chose RCN without knowing that. I can't get dish because my landlord doesn't allow dishes.

So now I don't feel so bad when I pay the bill every month.

36. but LynneSin!
besides old gold (or "old mold" as we used to affectionately say ;-) ) who has ever heard of any of those???

and, just a thought - i know that you are trying to help, thank you! - but...

since november, i have spent very, very few dollars red. i have made a point of shifting my dollars everywhere i possibly can to blue. even when it's (extremely) inconvenient. my mantra is something along the lines of "do i want to give my money to bush? do i? no, i do not!" so i drive a few extra miles, or buy the cereal that is not on sale, or (most painful) go without!

the majority of money spent red has been on... you guessed it! goddamn bloody philip f**king morris goddamn f**king goddamn ciggarettes!

and, i resent every penny i spend, and i know i have to quit!!

quitting is better. i don't know when i am going to be able to do it, but i know it has to be done. but now you've presented alternatives. arrrgggghhhhh! ;-)

i will investigate the brands you listed while i continue in my endeavor to transition to "non-smoker."
