I'm a true Lounge Lizard, are you?

I mostly stay in the Lounge. I visit some of my favorite groups, but i hardly ever go in GD/GD politics. Losing the election really took a toll on me. I felt hopeless, and depressed for weeks after. It's hard enough bickering with the repugs, i don't like doing it with other liberals/progressives. We are never going to agree 100% on everything. I don't need the extra stress of it all. So, i get my news from AAR and my fun from the Lounge.

Every time I go to GD politics it's like a flame war of extremists. It is really bi-polar over there. So many people over there had unreasonable expectations from the recount, etc.

I come here to relax with people that share my ideology. Not quarrel with them.

I used to go to General Discussion a lot before the election. I find that I like the Lounge a lot better because there's far less bickering that goes on here. If the parenting group was more active, I'd probably spend more time there too.

8. I don't want to get into arguments online...

...I'm only online at work (no computer at home). I'm basically looking for a little fun and relaxation from work, a few minutes at a time. Flame wars in the purely political forums are NOT that. I don't have the time at work to get bogged down in an argument, or the energy really. If I reply to someone's opinion, it's almost always to agree with them. If I disagree, I keep it to myself and move on to another post or thread. A handful of times, after I've ventured to agree with one member another will take issue with something I typed and start arguing with me, but that's about it.

My favorite things to do here are exchanging captions to Bush photos and talking movies with a pretty hip and knowledgeable group (which the Lounge is, INMO).

Maybe if I had a computer at home I'd be more willing to get into endless arguments about political subjects, but I don't know--I get enough stress in my flesh-and-blood life as it is.

I will read GD posts, but I rarely post to them-mostly because just about every GD post aways seems to have 200 hostile replies!

I am a GD critter. But I come here when I need to get my head cleared out. And I am glad you freaks ( :silly: :bounce: :crazy: :freak: :hippie: :party: ) are here.
