I apologize from the bottom of my intestines
to everyone here for the dual crime of being unable
to personally view and memorize every thread on
DU, and for actually trying to enjoy a rare moment

One DU'er last week started taking bets on how many times it will be posted.

13. I think I'm over-reacting for a few reasons

1-There are very few opportunities to find
mirth mingled with progressive hard-hitting
political commentary the past few years.
Outside of the Daily Show there's almost nothing.
It's just a relentlessly bleak Orwellian landscape.
Day after week after month...

When I do find it I'm so thrilled and energized
that I want to share it in one of the few places
where I don't feel utterly alienated (which is
increasingly hard to find after coup2k).

2-It's very hard to track every thread in every forum,
especially given that threads sink like rocks to page
7, 8,...etc after minutes. So dups are unavoidable,
even if one is careful (which I normally am).

3-Your response was merely a glib, vague, and dismissive
admonishment without giving me any idea of my perceived
offense. How is one to recognize and correct a problem
after such a comment? That's really the major factor.

4-Newbies, of which I am not one, are increasingly posting
about how quick members are to jump all over them for
a post that doesn't meet the standards of the forum of
the members. Until recently I've thought they were
overstating it. But I'm starting to think they have a point.

On the upside, the moderators are uncommonly kind and patient
and obliging, thank gawd. Rather than send me a nasty-gram
and deleting everything, they just moved this thread from
Discussions to the Lounge. I truly appreciate that.
DU probably has the most restrained and patient and understanding
moderators of any forum I frequent. Thanks to every one of them.

Do a search of all forums for http://www.coxar.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ and see what pops up.

Using the search engine before starting a thread is a GREAT way to avoid posting dupe threads, I've found.
