barring that, so fresh it's still steaming blacktop - when you're the first car through and traffic is still one-way ( happened to me once on a country lane in Vermont - dayum that was fun )

Great sound when you're driving, great smell, great traction.

Gotta love it.

10. Gravel
I love a gravel road - dry and dusty is the best. I used to have an old beat up truck that just floated across the gravel roads. Ran like crap on the highway, but floated along at 60 or 70 with inredible ease on the gravel. Scenery is better on a midwest gravel road, too.

It is kinda hell on the paint job, but I found the dust helped hold the body on to the rust. Never wash a truck after its been on the gravel.
