artistic source. A freelance illustrator-I think his name is Dan Haskett (foggy memory these days)-did some rough, sexy "pin-up" type drawings that directly inspired her final design. I have a few copies around here somewhere. They're pretty nice in a Gil Elvgren, Freddy Moore kind of way.

A very symmetrical face and well proportioned features. The only thing that doesn't measure up to the "artistic ideal" is the shortness of her forehead, but otherwise, she comes nearly as close as Grace Kelly did. (Personally, I think my friend Vijaya, who is also from India, is even more beautiful. But then, Vijaya has quite an intellect too, and that shines through somehow).

as an artist, I was trained in creating beautiful women characters for Disney (I'm still their "Princess Queen" I do most of the Princess artwork for the company).There's a proportional formula for the perfect female face, and the celebrity that came closest to those proportions was Grace Kelly (even babies react more favorably to these faces, so it isn't a cultural or learned preference). Symmetry contributes much to what we see as beautiful, but a PERFECTLY symmetrical face looks frighteningly alien. It's a balancing act, one that most of us lose in the gene pool lottery.

of those. I'm a former animator turned contract artist (the traditional studio is now defunct). It's just myself and two or three others who do all the Princesses, and I've done more of them than anyone in the past ten years. Very monotonous gig, I assure you. I'm trying to break away and do my own stuff now. Bloody depressing seeing your time ending up on T-shirts, Dixie cups, and little girl's luggage. :-(

I am a woman (As I think half the responders in this thread are), but looks attract a person at first. No one goes gee, look at that intelligent person across the room.

I think that men in general are more likely to remain attracted to a good looking person who has less going on otherwise than women are--they are more visual, and another DUer had a better explanation of that.

You'll never see Brad Pitt taking Camryn Manheim anywhere (Camryn's a lesbian, but you get my point). Meanwhile, Paulina Porizkova and Ric Ocasek have been married forever.

of my friend Vijaya. She has a very similar face (a bit older now, though), but with much more sultry eyes; they're a light caramel color with thick lashes all around. She has always looked like she's wearing kohl, but she doesn't wear makeup. In her twenties she was into weight training, and I swear, she had a body like Lara Croft! Her husband Jeff fell in love with her the moment he set eyes on her (hell, I'm as straight as can be, but even I had some very un-hetero thoughts when I met her, lol!) 20 years later and they are still in love, one of the happiest couples I know. She's incredibly well traveled, read, and is one of the funniest people I know, so that doesn't hurt either. :-)

There are lots of stunning Indian women out there, it's just that our culture/media doesn't expose us to many of them.
