Tight pants causing red, scratchy, marky things. OUCH!
I must have put on some weight because my pajama pants are digging into my skin...the skin is raised, red, and itchy...so gross. I'm going to cry at my fat ass:cry:

does this ever happen to anybody? And is there a medical term for 'skin abused by tight pants that fat people wear'????

1. Find some pants that are loose fitting
The red marks and such will go away.

4. great idea!
But sleeping in the nude would probably scare my dog...I am a big ball of mass rolling everywhere.

This happens with jeans as well. I put on about ten pounds and my underwear, including bra, are digging into my skin. I should probably go on a diet, huh?

5. Yea, I'm a "sleep in the buff" kinda guy myself...
...so I don't know what to tell you. But either your legs are too big, or your pajamas are too small. You should probably adjust one or the other.

8. Wear a nightgown, instead. They're much more roomy.
That's what I do. I am not overweight, and am, in fact, anorexic, but have always felt more comfortable sleeping in a nightgown, even as a kid. I wouldn't panic about losing weight, but just choose roomier clothes, like nightgowns or sweatpants. After I had surgery, I did gain weight, and wore sweatpants for months. It was abdominal surgery, so I also needed something that was gentle on me. Take some time, give it some thought. You can do anything you want to do, like joining a weight-loss program, or doing it on your own, if you feel that you need to, but, above all, don't panic or berate yourself. And you know that DU is always here for you.:grouphug:

10. so sweet! Thanks!
:grouphug: I thought everyone would just call me a fatty.

But I have to lose weight. My clothes are becoming uncomfortable...I can't buy new fat clothes everytime I put on a few pounds:cry:
I need an emergency diet...stupid holidays with their holiday food:cry:

14. Don't panic and nobody's going to call you names
Just take a deep breath and decide what you need to do. There are such an overwhelming number of weight loss programs out there. They are advertised on TV and on the internet. You can't look at anything without seeing one of them, which also disturbs me, for a different reason, since I have trouble eating. My friend works, part-time, for Weight Watchers and seems to think that they're a reputable organization. And I know that she belongs to their message board. I'll ask her more about it and let you know, if you'd like. There are sure to be kindred spirits there, plus she sometimes sends me rather left-leaning articles that she finds on their site, LOL, since my friend is a fellow liberal!:-)

15. That would be great!
Just losing enough weight to fit comfortably in the clothes I have is all I need. Ask her for tips on losing about 10 holiday pounds, I don't usually eat junk food and for the past few days I have barely eaten a thing but my clothes are still digging in:cry: Thanks...good luck with putting on weight, I had a friend with a similiar problem and I always called her lucky...she also told me I was the lucky one because I could get fat if I wanted to.:) She's weird.

16. We're all weird, when it comes right down to it, aren't we?
I actually was overweight between my surgeries, since I put on 20 lbs., but now I just can't manage to eat. I will ask my good friend, who I'm sure will be glad to advise you or hook you up with her message board. I never understood why she became involved with Weight Watchers, since I've always thought of her as a small person, smaller than me, but she told me that she lost 40 lbs. with Weight Watchers, totally unbelievable to me. So your goal is a much easier one. I'll e-mail her this thread, if you'd like me to, and let you know what she says.:-)

17. Thanks...
I always put on weight and and then lose weight. Everyone tells me that it's unhealthy. I just want to maintain a normal weight, I'm sure Weight Watchers can help since I have no idea how to do it alone. Thank you so much, you can pm me anytime you have advice.:pals:

18. This probably isn't good, though I'm sure it happens to everyone
I'm the exception who just kept on putting on weight, when I was ill and inactive, and now just keep losing because I cannot eat. I will e-mail this thread to my good friend and PM you with whatever she says. You could probably also get advice from her message board, since there are bound to be kindred spirits there, but all she sends me from there are liberal articles, LOL! I keep trying to get her to join DU, since she'd be a perfect fit here, and another informed voice, but she says that she doesn't have time for both.

19. p.s. As for your dog, I seriously doubt that you could scare him/her,
even if you gained 100 lbs. That's the miracle of pets. They just love us for who we are. I have two dogs and my little one, since his sister died last year, has had separation anxiety. So he comes into the bathroom with me when I take a shower, and hasn't been shocked yet. He is just reassured if he's with me.
