My hands still smell like garlic
I chopped up garlic hours ago and the smell still lingers. That smell does not go away without a fight, let me tell ya.

1. use some lemon juice, or rub them on stainless steel
if you have one of those palmable stainless steel "garlic go away" things, you're set, but I assume you don't, or you would have remembered to use it by now.

But any stainless steel, for the most part, will do it.

3. Stainless steel spoon, rubbing under running water will do.
This works when the smell is fresh.
After that oil has seeped into your pores?

Not sure.

15. I second this method.
It actually works. Rubbing stainless steel objects while under running water gets the smell off.

10. Yes it is in New-Speak...
It means, "Something that is easily held in the palm, such as a Palm Pilot or a Geo-Cache."

7. Cold water and salt.
Use the salt as if it were soap.

This is also good for onion odor on hands. In both cases this is best done IMMEDIATELY after handling the garlic or onion.

I learned this from my father about fifty years ago (Jeez, has it really been that long? . . . yes, it has). The only worthwhile thing I ever learned from him, but it's truly wonderful.

No need for your hands to reek of garlic or onion ever again.

8. Actually, I love that smell...
Therefore, I can't tell you how to get rid of it because I don't bother.
:)

I know, I know... I'm weird! But, hey! It keeps the vampires away. :silly:
