1. I have never understood watching sports
Playing I can understand. But watching others play? And the depth of commitment some people exhibit... it blows my mind. They have absolutely nothing to do with these individuals playing and yet extasy and depression can result from their actions. Its just not my bag I guess.

2. Its something to do man
but hey I can respect your philosophy. I think people watch sports because they sort of wish that could be them, I always wanted to play high school football.

4. Oh I don't begrudge others
I just don't get it. If its something people enjoy I am all for it. I certainly am very aware that many of my passions will seem sensless to others. It takes all kinds of people to make up this wonderful world. I would get bored pretty fast if everyone were just like me. Give me variety any day over commonality.

15. I love to watch baseball because I love the game.
It's nearly infinite in its intricacies and possibilities. To my knowledge it's unique in that the defense has control of the ball. Anything can happen at any time and I find that fascinating. Every game has the potential to shock even the oldest and most jaded fan.

I'd like to play, but I can't anymore. So I watch. I don't care about what the players experience. I care about what I experience -- and learn, about this game I've known almost my whole life.

But basketball? Now there's where I can fully understand what you've expressed.

16. I look at it a different way
I'm a fan, I root for Denver. But I like watching good FOOTBALL. Some of the athletes in the NFL are just incredible and I like to see what they can do, that to me is entertainment. Just like people who watch "Friends", for entertainment.

8. thats good
Really was a heck of a cheap shot. It should be a great game, post has the vikings as the 3 point favorite but I hope Farve's experience will be a key factor in the hopeful win.

...Ready and reporting for duty!! As for that other team, Vikings fans don't call them the Packers. We call them the Pukers. Pukes for short.

9. Minnesota
At home, I usually will go with the Vikings. Were the game at Lambeau, I'd probably take Green Bay.

13. Heart says Pack, head says Vikes
This game is for the NFC Central title. The Vikes dont wanna choke this year, again. Third seed and a home playoff game on the line.

Should be a good one, although if Culpepper and Moss play toss and catch, it could be a blowout. Our defense has trouble stopping anyone.

Football on Christmas eve, the one time a year I go to church. I'll be cussing all afternoon, Lord's name in vain, etc. Hypocrite.

17. I don't care, I just want a high scoring game, with some TDs
For my fantasy football roster. I've got WR Javon Walker, RB Ahman Green, and WR Marcus Robinson. I need points damnit, its the playoffs.

21. Packers all the way.
Edited on Thu Dec-23-04 04:28 PM by Spike from MN
I live in MN and hate the Vikes. I WAS a fan until they started with their incessant demands for a new stadium. Every year it's the same thing -- the legislature spends most of the session dealing with various proposals for a damn stadium and don't have time to deal with actual legislative issues. They have been doing this for years and I'm happy to say that so far the stadium proposals have been shot down every time. How about a 3 strikes rule for stadium proposals? Now THAT'S something I could get behind. To add to it, Tice stumped for * when he was here campaigning. Screw Tice and screw the Vikes. I hope they lose every game for the rest of the season and I REALLY hope the Packers trounce them.
