I've had the pleasure of seeing him reading some of his work on 2 separate occasions in Raleigh NC. One time, his Dad and one of his sisters were there in the audience and he introduced them (not Amy).

We waited in the line afterward to have him sign our books and he was very nice, but you could tell that public appearances are not his favorite thing.

4. I thought Strangers with Candy would suck

But it's like a drug. It pulled me in, I can't take my eyes off it. David Sedaris's descriptions of Amy in his books are right on.

and apparently the DVD of all the episodes of "Strangers With Candy" is coming out soon, or is out already.
