Ok, I confess.. I'm a peeker
and it doesn't have to be just my presents. I like to peek into everyones packages. I just have to know. Am I the only one with this problem?

2. Are you kidding???
I've hunted down my stocking and presents since I was six.

I think this is the first year I haven't been able to find them. Hubby's getting too good at hiding my stuff!

3. I don't usually get my presents until Christmas day - but I have a
past as a peeker. I hunted presents down before they were wrapped. I very carefully unwrapped and then re-wrapped gifts. I shake, and squeeze and sniff. My name is yvr girl, and I am a peeker.

My dad hid my presents at the neighbour's house when I was a teenager.

4. I was so good at it my older brother used to pay me to find his!
If they were wrapped when I located them I took a razor slit the tape and re-wrapped them when I was done peeking.

What day of the week are we planning on having the meetings?

How about Monday. I hereby call the first meeting of the Peekers Anonymous, DU Chapter to order.

9. Do we want to share tricks of the trade
or encourage each other to change?

19. LOL I would have to vote for tricks of the trade!
One must be careful with foil wrapping paper, so not to crease it. Also, it helps to make the gift look just wrapped again if you square all the edges (buy running your fingers over them) once done peeking.

20. foil paper is the bane of all peekers
cheap paper is tough too - very prone to ripping.

23. cheap tape is sometimes hard to get off too
the easiest is the transparent brand. and don' take anyone peeking with you, I find they just get too excited and sometimes tear the package.. then you're in big trouble.

6. I never did get around my husbands presents either
he would go out christmas eve and fill a big black bag with stuff for me. One year there was this huge pair of underpants in the bag (his Idea of a joke I guess) I have a picture somehwere of me and my sister both in them at the same time and still room for a third person.

10. The Christmas I was 10 and my brother was 8
we stayed up really late one night a few days before Christmas. Our stepdad was passed out as usual and our mom was sleeping with Prince Valium so we very carefully unwrapped and re-wrapped every single gift.

We had to act all surprised on Christmas morning. That was just evil of us.

14. Acting surprised is the hardest part
One Christmas I discovered a gift I most definitely did not want to open up in front of a crowd. (Why my mother thought that I would appreciate a training bra as a present is beyond me.) I hid it under the snow at the bottom of the tree to avoid the embarrassment.

11. *raises hand* If I was a little better at re-wrapping, presents I would
unwrap the ones I have under the tree and see what they are, but I think I pretty much know what everything is. LOL!

13. It could be worse
do you steam open the packaging on
the gifts and reseal them ? There may be a government job for you in the C.I.A. Superman allways knew what his gifts were.

15. you know, I did do that for the company I worked at for a while.
I worked in a large raised floor environment that contained row after row of servers and after 9-11 they needed someone to manage shipping and receiving. One of my tasks was to drive to another building where all the packages were delivered open them up and inspect them for anything suspicious, reseal them and take them over to our building. It was a great job while it lasted.

I saw her stalking the tree earlier tonight scoping out a bulb. She backed off when she saw me come in the room.

I can't get to him easily and bats at the bulbs. Plink, plink, poof! You know, that odd noise that a glass ornament makes whe it explodes? :hi:
