A shout out to all liberals in occupied red state territory!
I realized yesterday that I have never lived in a red state. I was born in Illinois, lived in Wisconsin, New Jersey, and now California for the past 18 years. Although I've had my share of run ins with freepers, I've never had any problem finding support for my ideas and beliefs. So here's to all of you who've had it the hardest, who suffer from social rejection, reprisals, rigged voting machines, and genuine ignorance and hatred all around you. We need you guys and gals to keep fighting, and we're behind you all the way!

4. thank you thank you thank you!!!!
It IS scary living down here. I can deal with Freepers I know what to expect from them. What I can't get over is fellow Dems & Progressives dumping on me (however directly or indirectly) for where I live! I can't stand being bunched in with Bush & Co., and the crazy Christians. Thank you Downtown Hound. Have faith in your blue red staters!!!!!

...but Indiana will never go Democratic. The Redneck, Fundie, Gun Nut lobby is too strong.

20. They do love Bayh, but I don't think so.
He would have to campaign his ass off in his home state and even at that he would probably lose 51/49.

If he would run though it probably would help a lot in Ohio.

10. Thanks. But, I'm ready to move to a blue state.
Edited on Wed Dec-08-04 11:25 PM by The Backlash Cometh
And I'm working to get my kids to go to college in blue states. I'm so fed up with the Southern mindset. In time they'll get their just reward when migration from the South American countries take them over. And, ironically, that demographic fact alone will push the south leftward.

BTw, I'm defining liberal as someone who supports gay rights, AA, and pro-choice. I support all three, if in a pragmatic fashion.

13. Though I'm from Connecticut, I also have lived in Nevada and Florida.
And both states sucked ass! That's why I'm back in the good old Northeast. I'd much rather put up with winter than with neocons!

14. Thanks for the recognition
I have lived in Missouri, Arkansas and now Kansas. There are plenty of liberals in these states. Unfortunately we are always out gunned by republican $ and corporate power. The DNC is not much help. I believe they just right us off. I think we should have won Missouri if they hadn't cut and run.
I had just spent time in Florida right before the election. It was Kerry / Edwards signs wall to wall. We should of had that state if that election where legit. Missouri was in play. There was Kerry Edwards signage from Kansas city through St. Louis. It just gets so frustrating living in the "red zone"
