Have you started considering any New Year's Resolutions yet?
Edited on Sun Nov-28-04 11:29 AM by XNASA
I'm thinking about turning over a new leaf. Or rather a whole branch of leaves.

No more drink, except at home, with dinner...

No more cigarettes. I don't smoke as a habit, but once in a while I might have a couple. I had a few at a smoker on Friday night and I still sound like crap.

No more :smoke:. I'll be 50 in 3 years. I thought never thought I'd :smoke: past the age of 35.

And it's time to get in shape.

Now mind you...I've never had a problem with any of these things. Never had a DUI, never been popped, and I still look OK for a 47 year old guy.

But I can't help thinking about how great I could feel if I just put a little effort in.

So how about you? Got any NYR plans??

3. hoping to start before then
to get in shape. i bought a gazelle a few months ago, and have used it about 3 times. i had a y membership for awhile. i would get going, then get sick, and fall apart. i have lupus, and i need the exercise, but it wears me out. so i really need to clear the calendar for a little while to get going. dark ugly january is a good time for that.

5. True. January is the perfect time to get started.
We've got a basement/rec room remodelling going on and we hope to be done for the Holidays. An excercycle or gazelle and a little music area would be a welcome thing for the Jan/Feb blahs.

4. The one resolution I have been able to
keep was the one I made years ago:

I resolved to make no more New Year's resolutions. I have kept to it.

8. I've changed my New Year's Resolution policy:
Instead of trying to improve myself, I will be assigning Resolutions to those around me, in areas I feel they could use some improvement.

One day, they'll thank me.

the only bad habit i have is smoking...which i need to quit.
seems its the only bad vice i have. I guess with the price of
cigs. most of us will be forced to quit. I think i will need
some help in quitting. Im now smoking only on the pation & garage
so im cutting down anyway.

10. I never make New Year's resolutions
As I am making resolutions year round, it seems rather odd for me to make them at the one time of year I'm least likely to follow through.

I do best on life changes that I make in September, believe it or not. I have a "back to school" kind of mentality when it comes to improving myself. As long as I get the new wardrobe to go along with it, just like I used to, then anything seems possible. ;-)

11. My resolutions
Every year since I graduated high school, I have relied more on gardening. I no longer buy spices and I freeze my veggies. I have time to do all that because I still live at home (Im 22) and my mother is handicapped and I take care of her. I am slowly moving more and more to the vegan lifestyle. I'd like to move further in that direction next year.

I also want to choose my friends more wisely.

14. I am going to try to unclutter my life a bit.
Or at least unclutter my apartment. I periodically feel overwhelmed by the amount of stuff I have. I am going to rid myself of the things that are just taking up space and not making me happy. (And I am going to apply that last thought to some of the people I know too! I have already gotten rid of the most blatantly selfish and stupid Republicans in my life and will be pruning my contact list even more come the new year. Life is way too short to spend time with ignorant, annoying people.)
