Pet peeve: the misuse of "we" - usually by freepers
It's usually a cheap trick - like when they say: "what will we do now that WE LOST? (always in caps). Or: "Should we really be impolite to the Bush twins? etc, etc
Mind you, some legit DU-ers do it to in a slightly manipulative fashion .
I for one, will keep using "I" when refering to my opinions.

2. Should Skinner Ban the use of the word?
I use it occasionally I must confess but only after gaging what would be a common census of people here or in general. It seems to me the word could be used for many reasons. I-me-mine has it's draw backs also, the Beatles even played up a tune for it.

THE BEATLES lyrics - "I Me Mine"

(Harrison)

All through the day, I me mine
I me mine, I me mine
All through the night, I me mine
I me mine, I me mine
Now they're frightened of leaving it
Everyone's weaving it
Coming on strong all the time
All through the day I me mine

I-I-me-me-mine, I-I-me-me-mine
I-I-me-me-mine, I-I-me-me-mine

All I can hear, I me mine
I me mine, I me mine
Even those tears, I me mine
I me mine, I me mine
No-one's frightened of playing it
Everyone's saying it
Flowing more freely than wine
All through the day I me mine

I-I-me-me mine, I-I-me-me mine
I-I-me-me mine, I-I-me-me mine

All I can hear, I me mine
I me mine, I me mine
Even those tears, I me mine
I me mine, I me mine
No-one's frightened of playing it
Everyone's saying it
Flowing more freely than wine
All through your life I me mine

3. Manipulative?
I don't understand your objection to using the first person plural when discussing the actions of liberals or the Democratic Party.

You'll note that the name of this site implies that people on the left hang out here to discuss political issues and strategies. Asking "what should we do" is certainly legitimate, unless, of course, you feel that you are not a member of the party or have no interest in its future.

4. It was a reply to the original post
I was going off into the deep end with it.

Taking things to the illogical conclusion is okay to do here by the way.
